D'Alembert Betting System for Roulette

For convenience, we can divide the existing betting systems into several groups. To the first group we will refer systems similar to the Martingale betting system, when after a loss the player increases the previous bet several times.

To another group we can refer the D'Alembert betting system and the like when, after losing, the player increases the previous bet by a fixed amount of 1, 2, 5 dollars. After the win, the player decreases the bet.

Using the D'Alembert betting system, the player bets on even money (Red/Black or High/Low for example). The player determines in advance the size of the initial bet and the amount by which he increases the previous bet after loss. Suppose that the initial bet is 20 dollars.

That is, the player made a bet of $20 for red. If he loses, he increases the previous bet by 1 dollar. Suppose he makes all bets on red. Hypothetically, the game might look like this:

  1. He bets $20 on red and loses.
  2. He increases the bet by $1 and bets $21 on red. He wins.
  3. The next bet is $20 again. He wins.
  4. The next bet is $19, the initial bet is decreased by $1. He wins.
  5. He bets $18. It is a loss.
  6. He bets $19. It is a loss.
  7. He bets $20.

To use this betting system, the player needs a bankroll of a certain size. If necessary, the bankroll must be able to cover the series of losses. So, if you plan to start betting from $20, you need a bankroll of 15 more than the initial bet. It must be about 300 or 400 dollars.
